Capsicums are beautifully coloured fruits that come in red, green & yellow colours. In Britain, they’re called Chilli Peppers; in US & Canada, they’re known as Bell Peppers; in Australia & Asia, people call them Capsicum; & in some countries, Paprika.
Capsicums, Bell Peppers or Chilli Peppers are just some names of a genus of tropical pepper plants that can grow in a wide variety of shapes & sizes, which can be eaten raw or cooked.
During a recent trip to Japan, I savoured a tasty dish at the Tokyo Grand China. The idea of replicating this popped up during my planning for my CNY Reunion Dinner this year.
As I could only find Red & Green Peppers, I used Oranges to replace the Yellow Peppers. These oranges not only help to enhance the colours in the dish, but also add some new year cheer to my menu. Don’t you think these oranges did a wonderful job to my plating?

Method:- Rinse & shred pork.
- Marinate for at least 30 mins.
- Clean capsicums & shred.
- Wash oranges & slice them up. Arrange them neatly on a serving plate.
- Heat oil & sautéed garlic. Add pork & ginger, & mix well.
- When pork is almost cooked, add in capsicums & seasoning. Stir fry for another 1-2 mins & transfer to serving plate. * Do not overcook the pork or it'll turn tough. Enjoy this tender & flavourful Orange Blossoms Shredded Pork With Capsicums (花开富贵肉丝), that's so rich in vitamins!
